The principal contractor has responsibility to oversee
the safety of other tradesmen’s, and workers in accordance with the approved
project health and safety rules.
4.1
Responsibilities:
4.1.1 Safety Manager (Civil Contractor)
Provides
assistance in developing and carrying out emergency response plans to all
sub-contractors.
4.1.2 Safety Engineer (Civil Contractor)
Evaluate the number and
types of hazards expected based on past experience and general knowledge to
plan and develop Emergency Response Plan specifics.
Provide training to all
M/s. Orama employees for their roles in all emergency plans.
Conduct drills to
practice response to emergency situations.
Conduct an annual drill
to practice confined-space rescue.
All other activities
necessary to the development and implementation of an effective Emergency
Response Plan.
Make emergency response
team assignments.
4.1.3 Safety Officer (Civil Contractor)
Maintain sufficient
inventory of emergency response equipment.
Ensure maintenance and
inspection of emergency response equipment.
Help and coordinate with
emergency response team members of Sub-Contractors
4.1.4 Trained Personnel (Orama)
M/s Orama will coordinate
with emergency response teams from Civil Contractors.
Civil
Contractors has active positions on the response teams must assist the M/s
Orama Safety Team.
4.2 Safety Officer
Responsibilities and Duties:
Circulate material received from Principal Contractor H&S to
appropriated members of the sub-contractor
Inspect the construction site to ensure the workplace meets the
various safety requirements.
Ensure that monthly inspection of Fire Extinguishers, Exit Lights
and Emergency Lighting, are carried out.
Respond to reports of unsafe conditions (e.g. electrical hazards,
chemicals gas, etc.)
Assist with investigating all accidents and send reports to the
Department of Environmental Health and Safety. Ensure the completion of
incident report/accident reports and can be notified of all accidents.
Notify all risk of critical accidents, unsafe conditions or work
refusals.
