As a result, Orama safety record is consistently better than the industry average. Our extensive safety program reflects our belief that people are the most valuable asset. Safety is the determining factor in almost every facet of work, including productivity, reputation, employee relations and financial results. We achieve this goal by providing a system of policies, procedures and practices that encourage continuous improvement of all HSE program elements and the site specific HSE plan.

Orama is committed to the highest standards of safety and security performance possible consistent with sound practices. An organized and effective safety program is developed for each location. We recognize the achievements of those who directly supervise projects with outstanding safety records. We also hold weekly meetings to discuss general safety issues. Providing a safe work environment is a priority and adherence to safety policies is a condition of employment.

As an employee or worker, you must be aware of and comply with your responsibilities under legislative, industry and company standards, including those identified in the HSE Manual and HSE Site Specific Safety Plan. You must promptly report all unsafe acts or conditions to your supervisors.

Policy Execution: To achieve the objective of preventing all accidents, the company will ensure that:

  • Applicable Middle East legal requirements are always meet.
  • Materials and equipment used are of a high standard and quality and are maintained properly.
  • Adequate instructions and information are provided to perform work efficiently and safely.
  • Staff’s receives the required professional and safety training.
  • Work is sufficiently supervised by knowledgeable supervisors.
  • Personal protection equipment is issued out to the personnel who requires it and must wear at the job site   at all times.
  • Adequate emergency equipment and emergency plans are available to cope with any incident.
  • Incidents are reported promptly and investigated in depth. The lessons learned from the incidents will be discussed widely in the company.
  • Information as regards HSE is widely distributed to the company.

Management Responsibilities:

  • A safe working environment
  • Safe systems of work
  • Tools and equipment’s in safe condition
  • Facilities for the welfare of workers
  • Information, instruction, training and supervision that is reasonably necessary to ensure that each worker is safe from injury and risks to health
  • A commitment to consult and co-operate with workers in all matters relating to health and safety in the workplace
  • A commitment to continually improve our performance through effective safety management.

Workers Responsibilities:

Each worker has an obligation to:

  • Comply with safe work practices, with the intent of avoiding injury to themselves and others and damage to plant and equipment,
  • Take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and others,
  • Wear personal protective equipment and clothing where necessary,
  • Comply with any direction given by management for health and safety,
  • Not misuse or interfere with anything provided for health and safety,
  • Report all accidents and incidents on the job immediately, no matter how trivial,
  • Report all known or observed hazards to their supervisor or manager.
